Koora Time, a joint initiative between Qatar Football Association and Shell Qatar, along with Football for All in Vietnam (FFAV) and Nguyen Hoang Phuong from Vietnam were presented with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Dream Asia Awards 2017.
The winners received their honors in an award ceremony that took place on the sidelines of the AFC Premier League Football Social Development Conference 2017 in Hong Kong on Thursday.
The annual AFC Dream Asia Awards are presented in the three categories of corporate, non-governmental organization and individual. They recognize and honor those who have shown exemplary commitment towards social development using football as an agent for change.
The awards were handed to the winners by AFC General Secretary Dato' Windsor John, Premier League Executive Chairman Richard Scudamore and the chairman of the AFC Social Responsibility Committee, Ahmed Eid S. Al Harbi.
This award adds to Koora Time's many accolades, which include recognition at the Sport Industry Awards 2014 for best youth development initiative, the AFC Dream of Asia Award in the area of social responsibility and the Dar Al Sharq CSR Award for best sports initiative.
Koora Time is a nation-wide initiative to improve the health and well-being of young people in Qatar through football, the most popular sport in the country, and it is the winner of the AFC Dream Asia Award 2017 in the corporate category.
The community-inspired initiative supports the Social and Human Development pillar of the Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Development Strategy by engaging young people in Qatar at every stage of their lives
