Qatar Charity implements 363 projects in Indonesia


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Qatar Charity (QC) has carried out 363 projects in Indonesia during the first half of 2017.
These projects included provision of water, education, multi-cultural services centres, housing and income-generating schemes, at a cost of QR7mn.
Qatar Charity said in a press statement that it is currently pursuing 630 projects which would be completed in the coming months, at a cost of about QR43mn.
Karam Zeinhom, the Director of QC's Office in Indonesia said the projects implemented in the first half of the year included 326 water projects at various villages, mosques and schools, including the construction of 5 houses for the poor and orphans, and the construction of two multi-service centres in the cities of Sukabumi and Obikasi, as well as the construction of 23 mosques a school for memorisation of the Holy Qur'an in addition to 6 income-generating projects.
He added that donors from Qatar always respond to the needs of the Indonesian community. Qatar Charity Office in Indonesia is preparing to start the project for building a private hospital in one of the largest healthcare institutions in Indonesia, he noted.
