Morocco- Moroccan Shares Close Session in Equilibrium, Volumes Still High


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat – The Casablanca listing closed Wednesday's session practically unchanged compared to the previous day. At the close, the Moroccan All Shares Index showed a 0.01 percent decrease losing a single point to 12,393 points in a session with little volatility.

Trade volumes on the other hand registered a significant increase to MAD 245 million traded on the central market. Attijariwafa Bank came first in terms of exchanged volumes with MAD 45 million, but the Moroccan bank's shares fell by 0.22 percent trading at MAD 448.

Sugar manufacturer Cosumar managed to recover from Tuesday's loss with a 0.72 percent at MAD 317 per dividend, coming second in terms of transactions with MAD 41 million exchanged on the central market.

Maroc Telecom took third place with MAD 29 million, as the telecommunication giant gained 0.14 percent in yesterday's session trading at MAD 139.70.

Marsa Maroc is still pursuing its historical highs. For Wednesday's session, the company closed trade at MAD 154 for a gain of 0.72 percent, drawing more than MAD 28 million from the central market.

Mining sector finished on a positive note. Managem gained 0.73 percent at MAD 1,510 and CMT rose 1.74 percent at MAD 1,460.

The top performers of Wednesday's session were Colorado with a 8.65 percent increase trading at MAD 69.95, followed by Involys which gained 6.40 percent at MAD 133 at close of trade. In third place comes Maghreb oxygen which rose to 52-week high, up 5.96 percent at MAD 132.45 per dividend.

In total, rising stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Casablanca Stock Exchange by 24 to 18, and five ended unchanged.

EUR/MAD was down 0.29 percent to MAD 11.0030, while USD/MAD rose 0.20 percent to MAD 9.6431.
