Qatar- MoI lines up Eid events for workers

The Ministry of Interior will organise various cultural and awareness programmes for expatriate communities and workers at Asian Town and Barwa Workers Sports Complex in Al Khor on the first and second days of Eid Al Fitr.
The programmes, comprising performances and shows by popular orchestra troupes and teams of expatriate communities, will be held from 5pm to 10pm.
There will be an opportunity for workers and community members to showcase their talents in singing, acting and drama and the audience will be getting about 700 prizes through raffle draws during two days of programmes.
The announcement was made at a press conference held at the headquarters of the Civil Defence yesterday.
The press conference was attended by public relations officer from the Ministry of Interior by Lt. Waleed Muhammed Al Abdullah, Assistant director of communications of the Barwa group Ali Shaheen Al Kuwari, awareness officer from civil defense Lt. Abdul Hadi Al Murri and facility manager of Bin Ajayan projects Ahmed Aidarouse.
'The Ministry of Interior will be organizing lsquo;Eid Al Fitr Awareness and Cultural Festival' with the aim providing a safer environment for expatriate communities and workers to celebrate Eid Al Fitr on first and second days of Eid Al Fitr at Asian town (Open yard near cricket stadium) in Industrial area, said Al Abdullah.
'The Barwa Group also will be organizing Eid Al Fitr celebrations for the communities on first and second days of Eid in Barwa Workers Sports Complex in Al Khor industrial area
'The Amphitheater of Asian Town will be hosting 'Super Star Night Damaka 2017 event during 1st and 2nd Day of Eid, Aidarouse told The Peninsula. Several Bhojpuri and Nepali superstars will be performing, he added.
The Barwa group will be organizing two days program at Barwa Workers Sports Complex in Al Khor from 5 pm until 10 pm, said Al Kuwari.
The main attractions of the event will be performances and shows by popular orchestra troupe and communities teams in addition to this, the Ministry of Interior will contribute to the success of the event by delivering safety and security messages to the audience. Barwa has arranged many gifts for the public which will be distributed through raffle draw, he added.
The Civil Defense will take part in the event by presenting awareness messages to the public on fighting fire breakouts and major fire accidents at establishments as well as how to evacuate immediately in case of fire, said Abdul Hadi.
Bin Ajayan group will be organizing several musical and sports event on first and second days of Eid, said Aidarouse.
Seven departments including Traffic, Civil Defence, Community Policing, Al Fazaa Police, Permanent Committee for Drugs and Alcohol Affairs, Search and Follow Up Department and Human Rights Department from the Ministry of Interior will take part in this event with awareness programmes on traffic safety, pedestrian safety, awareness messages on risks of drug abuse and mental stimulants usage, risks of carrying belonging of others when coming to Qatar without verifying its content, procedures to bring medicine to Qatar, importance of carrying ID card, risks of gathering in front of accident sites and Qatar's custom and tradition.
Lt. Waleed urged the communities members and companies' representatives to send maximum number of people to this event as it will be a golden opportunity for them to impart very important information.
