Kuwait- Turkish airstrike kills three PKK members in N Iraq


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ISTANBUL, June 22 (KUNA) -- Three members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) were killed by a Turkish military airstrike in northern Iraq, Turkish General Staff announced Thursday.

Acting upon a tip off by intelligent information, a Turkish military drone attacked a PKK militants' site in Zap area after monitoring their recent activities, General Staff said in a statement.

The PKK militants were preparing to carry out a terrorist act against border security stations and military zones inside Turkey, the statement said, adding that the airstrikes killed three militants.

Meanwhile, Turkish forces have found and seized 21 tons of ammunition and living items inside two shelters used by PKK militants in Pervari district of Siirt province. (end) ta.ma
