Oman- Confident Ahmad heads to Paul Ricard 1,000km

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat - Buoyed by the spectacular back-to-back wins at the Michelin Le Mans Cup last week, Oman Racing's Ahmad al Harthy believes that the momentum is with them as he heads to his next challenge – the third round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup at the Circuit Paul Ricard 1,000km in France on June 23-24.

At Paul Ricard, Ahmad will be joined by experienced Jonny Adam and Salih Yoluc in the six-hour race, the longest of the season so far at the Le Castellet track. Yoluc races with TF Sport, which powers Oman Racing, in the European Le Mans Series.

Ahmad goes into the race on the back of his strong showing along with Tom Jackson as the duo claimed GT3 class wins in the Michelin Le Mans Cup, as part of the support package to last weekend's prestigious Le Mans 24 Hours race.

Ahmad will sharing the Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 car with Adam, who also is in terrific form after winning the GTE class at the Le Mans 24 Hour race, and Yoluc in the Pro-Am class.

Adam was part of the factory Aston Martin entry along with Darren Turner and Daniel Serra who won at Le Mans.

'I really am looking forward to Paul Ricard after an amazing weekend at Le Mans', said Ahmad.

'We need to focus on the 1,000km and six-hour race, which is going to be a huge

challenge for us. A huge grid of around 60 cars is waiting ahead in the race that goes into the night. Blancpain is never easy at all, but so far we've had a

fantastic season and we plan to keep that momentum going.

'It is an ideal preparation for the upcoming Total 24 Hours of Spa, the blue riband event of the 2017 Blancpain GT Series, on July 27-30.

'Adam's excellent triumph makes the team confident and we are looking forward to working with Salih. Hopefully it'll be another strong weekend for Oman Racing,' said Ahmad.

Oman Racing is at the top of championship standings in the Endurance Cup Pro-Am class with 44 points, 17 clear of Barwell Motorsport.
