Kuwait launches huge media monitoring committee amid Gulf gap


(MENAFN) Kuwait is setting up a committee to deal with efforts to use social media to spread rumors, aiming other nations or fuel sectarianism and sedition.

Moreover, the governmental committee will cover representatives from the ministries of foreign affairs, interior, information and endowments.

In addition, the interior ministry will monitor all social media accounts and to refer abusers to courts while the information ministry will launch a team to follow up on all violations in elect media.

On the other hand, the foreign ministry will continue to assume its diplomatic roles abroad to help emphasize rifts amid the Arabian Gulf.
