Israel starts cutting elect supplies to Gaza

(MENAFN) Israel started to cut elect supplies to the Gaza Strip, despite warnings the move could enhance suffering and tensions in the Palestinian reserve.

Furthermore, the cut will reduce the mains power flow to Gaza to as little as two hours a day, while many businesses and the wealthy have their own generators.

Meanwhile, Israel started to cut elect flow by 8MW into the enclave, while the state-run Israel Elect Corp confirmed it had diminished power supplies.

Additionally, Israel supplied 120MW of elect to Gaza a month, which made more than one quarter of the enclave's needs, with the PA paying the USD12.65mn monthly bill.
