Qatar earn second win at FIBA 3x3 World Cup

Former champions Qatar pulled off a brilliant 19-17 victory over third seeds Poland to rise to the second spot in the pool at the FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Nantes, France on Sunday.
Qatar's new-look team of Abdulrahman Saad, Erfan Ali, Tanguy Ngombo and Fadi Abilmona first outplayed 11th seeds Estonia (Erik Luts, Jaagup Toome, Mario Polusk and Sander Viilup) to get a flying start in the event that they had won in 2014 in Moscow.
They lifted their game to a couple of notches higher when they took on third-seeded Poland, represented by Szymon Rduch, Przemysf1'b3aw Rduch, Arkadiusz Kobus and Dawid Brek.
In a close finish, Qatar managed to forge a 19-17 victory to stay unbeaten after two matches in the Pool C.
Qatar will take on Ukraine in their next match, the other unbeaten team in the group after two matches, to decide the topper.
And their fourth and last match is against Sri Lanka, who have lost both the matches so far. Ukraine are leading the pool as they have a better point difference than Qatar.
In the Pool A, defending champions Serbia are on the top after two successive wins over Russia (20-17) and Egypt (17-15). In the second place are Puerto Rico, who have one-one win-loss record.
Hosts France are heading the Pool B after beating El Salvador (21-5), having bigger point-difference than second-placed Slovenia, who beat Romania 21-15).
The Netherlands and the USA are in the top two spots of the Pool D. The Dutch downed the USA 19-12 and South Korea 22-6 to reach the top with plus 23 points difference. The Americans beat Indonesia 21-8 to have one win and one defeat after the two games.
