(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- With Ramadan around the corner, Ooredoo is set to launch its annual Goodwill Journey to add value to communities throughout the length and breadth of the sultanate. This year, the company will also be providing non-profit organisations with sustainable support in the form of essential equipment, educational materials and other donations in celebration of the holy month.
The Goodwill Journey will feature a host of new activities carefully designed to boost the sustainable development and growth of local communities, with a focus on driving the empowerment of Omani women through their capability-building incubators.
Ooredoo's incubator programmes will be conducted in collaboration with the Omani Women's Association to empower local women through a series of intensive workshops, equipping them with essential skills training in a variety of disciplines including IT, beauty, cooking and sewing.
In doing so, they aim to enhance their skillsets and provide them with a valuable opportunity to be part and parcel of the burgeoning Omani entrepreneurial community. A part of its ambitious CSR programme, Ooredoo's Goodwill Journey was launched in 2005 in order to boost the sustainable development of local communities across Oman. The centrepiece of the company's CSR initiatives sees volunteers from the company travel 2,000km on a mission of care, compassion and community support. Ooredoo's travelling ambassadors have directly empowered more than 171 groups and 10,000 people.
