Oman- Double hat trick of wins for Lulu at DISTREE Middle East Awards


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- Lulu Hypermarket, the largest retail chain in the GCC region, has bagged the 'Retailer of the Year Award 2017' to Oman for the 6th running year at the coveted DISTREE Middle East 2017 Events. The event was held at The Meydan Hotel, Dubai.

The award recognises Lulu's achievements and its overall contribution to the development of the consumer technology retail channel. Another feather in the Lulu cap was the Customer Promotion Award for Oman and the 'Retailer of the year Award 2017' for the Qatar region. The event gathered more than 200 senior executives and buyers from the region's leading consumer technology retailers and e-tailers in one place at one time. During the three-day event, exhibiting vendors and distributors held thousands of pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings with buyers from across the region.

The Customer Promotion Award for Lulu Oman was for leveraging the power of proposition to the needs of segment clusters. Lulu had launched a one day never before Buy 2 + Get 1 Free tactical offer on IT and electronics under the same name with a customised product solution catering to the specific needs of various clusters highlighting the brand's experience and expertise. This unique customer centric proposition and branding with significant value ensured that it retained the largest share in the categories of electronics and home appliances during the year.

DISTREE Middle East operates a number of award programmes across a number of categories to celebrate the best in technology, innovation, channel excellence and business performance. The awards were announced after strict evaluation of hundreds of nominations received.

The nominations were then reduced to a shortlist of seven exceptional executives. The event brought together hundreds of senior executives and buyers from the region's leading consumer technology retailers and e-tailers.

The event also included the 'Middle East Retail Academy (MERA): 2017 Awards', which recognise the performance of outstanding retailers and distributors through a combination of executive and company awards.
