Kuwait coordinates with Arab states on health issues -- minister

GENEVA, May 22 (KUNA) -- Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Jamal Al-Harbi said on Monday that Arab ministers of health have been engaged in coordination prior of the 70th session of the World Health Organization's general assembly.
Minister Al-Harbi said in a statement to KUNA, on Monday, that Kuwait, in its capacity as chair of the executive bureau of the Arab Health Ministers Council, regularly coordinates Arabs' stances at the UN quarters regarding afflicted regions.
Members of the Arab council have reached consensus on supporting the health sector in the Palestinian territories, dispatching medical expeditions to Somalia in addition to financial and administrative by the Arab Fund for Health Development.
Kuwait is particularly interest, during the WHO meeting, in files on chronic non-communicable diseases, containing epidemics and following up on medical technological development.
The WHO general assembly, scheduled May 22-27, groups health ministers of various countries. (end) ta.rk
