(MENAFN- Gulf Times) QIIB has received the ‘2017 banking excellence award' for its excellence in straight-through processing from the World Union of Arab Bankers, thus affirming the distinguished position of the bank in terms of integrated services provided to its clients.
Omar Abdul Aziz al-Meer, senior manager, QIIB (Treasury and Investment) received the award from Sheikh Mohamed Jarrah al-Sabbah, chairman of the Union of Arab Banks during a ceremony held in Beirut in the presence of banking industry leaders as well as distinguished Arab and international personalities.
QIIB Deputy CEO Jamal al-Jamal said, 'We are delighted to receive this distinguished award from the World Union of Arab Bankers, a prestigious professional institution, which is acquainted with the latest developments in the banking sector and gives its awards based on the criteria of efficiency and accomplishment. He said, 'Bestowing the award upon QIIB is a success for Qatar's banking sector that is witnessing great achievements, and placing it at the forefront of the banking sector in the region, which is playing a key role in Qatar's economic growth. Al-Jamal said, 'The significance of this award stems from the huge importance of external payments that require a high level of accuracy to guarantee the direct transfer of funds without any manual interference and ensure timely delivery to beneficiaries.
He said, 'Being recognised by an important regional institution such as the World Union of Arab Bankers for the efficiency of our external payment operations confirms the success of our strategies and our excellence in this field of operations.
