FEZ, Morocco, May 19 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Islamic Arts Center has taken part in the fifth edition of Fez International Calligraphy Festival.
Abdulsalam Al-Rihani, a manager of the festival, told KUNA on sidelines of its opening, on Thursday, that the Kuwaiti center's participation 'provides an additional value' to the event, noting its role in promoting the Arabic calligraphy and Islamic arts in Arab, Muslim and foreign nations.
Farid Al-Ali, the chairman of the Kuwaiti center, said in a statement to KUNA that the center was displaying publications about the Arabic calligraphy for children and juniors.
'Highlight of our participation is the signing of two books on the genuine Moroccan Kufi calligraphy, published by the center for free,' Al-Ali said, noting that all the displayed books and publications were distributed to attendees and guests without charges.
Famous calligraphers, artists and researchers, from Kuwait and other Arab countries, are taking part in the four-day event, which includes seminars and workshops. (end) mry.rk
