Morocco- Government Will Preserve Stability in Al Hoceima: Govt. Spokesperson


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat – Amid the growing tension of Al Hoceima protests, the Minister in charge of Relations with Parliament and Civil Society and Spokesperson of government, has promised that the government will %E2%80%9Cpreserve peace and stability in the region.%E2%80%9D

The minister Mustapha Khalfi said in a communiqué that %E2%80%9Cthe state's preservation of stability parallels an awareness of the living conditions for the citizens and promises to commit all the development [projects] by accelerating the [execution] process of the Menarat Al-Mutawasat plan under the royal construction.%E2%80%9D

Khalfi added that all governmental sectors are prepared to implement the scheduled critical development projects.

%E2%80%9CIf there was a guaranteed right in the peaceful protests, the authorities should play their natural role in maintaining security, stability, protect the people and the public properties in full respect of the law and under the supervision of the judiciary,%E2%80%9D he added.

Meanwhile, the protestors in Al Hoceima and its neighboring areas are staging demonstrations.

The nearly seven months of ongoing protests in Al Hoceima followed the death of Mouhcine Fikri, the fishmonger who was crushed to death in a trash compactor after the confiscation of his merchandise by authorities on October 28, 2016.
