(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman's shooters picked up a medal for the fourth consecutive day when the pair of Ismail al Abri and Wadha al Balushi claimed a silver in the mixed team 10m air 50 pistol event at the fourth Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, Azerbaijan on Wednesday.
The silver raised Oman's medals tally to five with four of those medals, two silver and two bronze, coming from the shooters.

The only other medal was claimed by star Omani sprinter Barakat al Harthi, who finished third in the 100m race on Tuesday night. Barakat clocked 10.35 seconds to settle for the bronze.
Turkey's Ramil Guliev won the gold in a time of 10.06s, while Bahrain's Andrew Fisher bagged the silver in 10.16s.
In the mixed team 10m air 50 pistol competition, the Omani duo of Abri and Wadha lost to the host nation's team of Nigar Nasirova and Ruslan Lunev 2-5 in the gold medal match.
Abri had earlier picked up Oman's first silver at the Games on Monday when he finished runner-up in the 50m pistol event.
In the qualification round on Wednesday, Abri and Wadha finished fifth among 12 teams with a score of 464, while Iran's team of Vahid Golkhandan and Haniyeh Rostamiyan topped the round with 480.
Oman's other pair of Sahir al Jahmani and Muad al Balushi also qualified with a sixth place score of 463. However, they failed to make a mark in the final round.
Meanwhile in tennis action, Oman's lone representative in the men's event, Younis al Rawahi, bowed out of the first round after losing to Saudi Arabia's Ammar al Haqbani 4-6, 1-6.
Defending women's champion Fatma al Nabhani of Oman will begin here title defence with a match against Turkmenistan's Anastasiya Prenko on Thursday.
In taekwondo, all the three players in action, including Yusra al Shoukri in the women's event, bowed out of their respective first-round contests.
While Ali al Hashmi lost to Jordan's Saleh El Sharabaty in -80kg category, Haitham alNaamani was outplayed by Turkey's Berkay Akyol in the -68kg class. Yusra lost to Layan Jaber of Palestine 4-5 in the -49kg contest.
Khalid al Ghailani, Oman's lone entry in the 200m race, failed to finish his preliminary heat on Wednesday.
He had also competed in the 100m event and bowed out in the semifinal heat on Tuesday after clocking a timing 10.73s.
Earlier on Wednesday, Bahrain's Olympic champion Ruth Jebet strolled to gold in the women's 3,000m steeplechase on day two of athletics event.
Jebet is arguably the biggest star at these Games and she won by over ten seconds during the morning session at the Olympic Stadium. Her time of nine minutes, 15.41 seconds was over 21 seconds off her own world record she had set in
Paris, France last year. But she looked effortless in the Baku sunshine.

Oman set to play against Cameroon On Thursday, the national football team, coached by Hamad al Azzani, faces a stern test as it takes on Cameroon in the semifinals. Oman qualified for the last-four stage from Group B after finishing second in its pool. It drew with Palestine
2-2 in the opener and then won 3-2 against Turkey before settling for a 1-1 draw with Algeria.
The other semifinal will be played between hosts Azerbaijan and Algeria.
