Morocco- Princess Lalla Salma Inaugurates 'Face à Picasso' exhibition in Rabat


(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Casablanca – Princess Lalla Salma has inaugurated, on Monday 15, the %E2%80%9CFace à Picasso%E2%80%9D exhibition at the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMVI) in Rabat.

Princess Lalla Salma Inaugurated 'Face à Picasso' Exhibition on May 15 at the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMVI) in Rabat. The exhibition is a collaborative effort between the National Museum Foundation of Morocco (FNMM) and the National Museum Picasso-Paris. It is a chronological journey of Picasso's masterpieces, across the different disciplines encompassing his career comprising 115 of his works.

Princess Lalla Salma visited the exhibition and took a souvenir photo. Mouna Mekouar, Androula Michael, curators of the exhibition, handed her a catalog with the works exhibited.

FNM assistant curator, Hind El Ayoubi, and FNM program manager, Fatima Zahra Lakrissa also handed Lalla Salma a commemorative stamp of the exhibition.

The exhibition breathes life into the works of the 20th century's most celebrated artist, Pablo Picasso, through spotlighting the different works that marked his artistic career, entourage and personal experiences in a chrono-thematic way.

Upon her arrival to the museum, Princess Lalla Salma was greeted by a several government and state officials including Lamia Boutaleb, Secretary of State to the Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Crafts and the Social Economy, in charge of Tourism, Mohamed Laaraj, Minister of Culture and Communication, the acting Wali of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region, governor of Salé, the chairman of the Rabat Prefecture Council, first vice-president of Rabat's city council and FNM president.

Other non-official figures who received princess Lalla Salma include Director-general of Fine Arts and Cultural Heritage of Spain, Luis Lafuente, director-general of Cultural Relations at the Spanish Foreign Ministry, Roberto Valera, president of the ONUART Foundation, Miguel Angel Moratinos, president of the Arab World Institute, Jack Lang, artist Charles Aznavour, as well as others.
