(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The third edition of the two-day Oman Real Estate Conference opened at the Grand Millennium Hotel, Muscat on Monday. The event was held under the auspices of Sultan bin Salim al Habsi, secretary general of the Supreme Council for Planning.
Eng Mohammed bin Salim al Busaidi, chairman of Oman Real Estate Association (OREA), said, 'We want to create a constructive platform for real estate stakeholders to share ideas and views and explore means to sustain the growth of the sector.'
He added that the conference also aims to provide a platform for exchanging knowledge on best practices, optimising on emerging business opportunities and finding solutions.
Hassan bin Mohammed Juma, deputy chairman of OREA, said that the conference has brought together real estate experts from Oman and abroad.
'It also includes several panel discussions on the available business opportunities in the market and solutions for key challenges facing the sector.
'The conference will cast light on latest developments at Integrated Tourism Complexes (ITCs),' he said.
'An exhibition on current real estate projects in the sultanate is being organised on the sidelines of the conference which will be attended by more than 300 public officials, real estate experts and businessmen,' Juma added.
The conference is being attended by senior officials of key government bodies, senior executives in the private sector and leaders from the following organisations or segments: Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Tourism, Supreme Council for Planning, Omran, Muscat Municipality, Special Economic Zone in Duqm, real estate developers and brokers, engineering and interior consultants, urban planners and architects, building material manufacturers and marketers, banks and non banking financial companies.
