Protecting Islam's heritage for future generations

(MENAFN) Bahrain has held a conference to talk about the lessons of the past and how to safeguard Muslim heritage for upcoming generations.

Salman Al Mahari and his team are digging a section on the western side of the Al-Khamis mosque site.

The mosque used to act as a familiar sight for ships at sea helping them to land in the 14th century.

Unlike today, excavating the mosque has a far more important function as an Islamic heritage.
