Real islamic virtue, the hospitality is steadily declining. Nowadays to maintain this value, it has become complicated due of the way that our societies are going.
We also tend to travel more and farther for work, studies, leisure or religious reasons.
However, in view of this increasing mobility, travelling authentically, ecologically and collaboratively is getting lost (in the shadow of some other values and preoccupations).
Yet, our beloved Prophet (pbuh) invited us to show kindness and be generous and hospitable.
Abu Shuraih Khuwailid Ibn ‘Amr Al-Khuza'i (may Allah be pleased withhim) reported that the Prophet (pbuh) said: "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day; should accommodate his guest according to his right.» He was asked "What is his right, O Messenger of Allah?» He (pbuh) replied: "It is (to accommodate him) for a day and a night, and hospitality extends for three days, and what is beyond that is charity.» (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Furthermore, the Muslim community is facing more and more difficulties because of prejudices and stereotypes. All too often, Muslims (especially veiled women) are denied access to hotels orother forms of temporary accommodations, or can sometimes fear for their safety.
Drawing on this and on our personal experiences, we considered it necessary to set up a tool in the service of all.
Our aim:to break down these stereotypes and to revitalize the values of hospitality and sharing to build a strong and vibrant supportive community.
Trip and Karam from the English " Trip » and the Arabic " Karam » : Hospitality, Generosity.
Trip and Karam is an international platform for people looking for a temporary accommodation and people willing to host travelers. Trip and Karam has the vocation to allow each person to be welcomed in the respect of the Islamic values and practices all over the world. Whatever the reasons of your trip or your beliefs are. Naturally, your stay is free !
Trip & Karam is also a social network providing the opportunity to meet local people, or travelers staying temporary in your city or just willing to meet new people.
Nevertheless, as a guest, nothing prevents you from bringing your host a speciality from your area to show your appreciation. This is not mandatory though.
For people who cannothost, you still have the possibility to meet new people, to show your city or share a meal.
As you will have understood the key words are "encounter», "authenticity» and "sharing» !
Travel like a local, open your home to travelers, meet new people and share your values!
It primarily adresses the Muslim community from 18 to 99 yers old but remains open to EVERYONE.
Women, men, couples, families, young, old, muslims or not, you are WELCOME !
The watchwords are "Hospitality», "Share», "Respect» and "Openness».
1- To Raise a supportive and hospitable wave thanks to a digital platform to improve our everyday life.
2- To Create a tool open to all enabling Muslims to travel safely, according to their beliefs and practices in a spirit of brotherhood and friendliness.
3- To Facilitate travels, journeys, discoveries and new encounters.
4- To Break stereotypes and prejudices inside and outside the umma, to participate in the fight against "phobias" and discriminations.
We would like the platform to befree and easy to use.
Four types of profile exist: female, male, couple and family.
As a first step, you have to register and create your profile. Then, you indicate on your profile if you accept guests or not. According to what you indicated, you will appear as a host or not in the search results.
If you accept guests you will be able to indicate howmany people you can host in your profile. Also, for your comfort, an option will allow you to hide your profile to the opposite sex.
Of course, you have the choice between "accepting» or "declining» requests of travelers. Naturally we willset up an internal messaging system.
While travelling, you will be able to "search a host» or "explore» to find members living in the city you're visiting by using the search bar.
At last, we will offer the option to become a "Verified Member». To benefit from this status, you will have to send us a copy of your iD and pay a modest fee so we see that you are a real person (identity and payment check).

How will the collection of donations will be used?
The collection of donations will be added to our personal contribution and will enable us to offer a free website if the necessary amount is reached. Also we will develop a portion of the platform ourselves so the cost of the website will be reduced.
Your donations will enable us to fund a responsive and secure website in french and english withthree main functionalities: messaging system, free hosting and encounters.

About the project owner
Imane, 22 yo, a first yearmaster student in International and European Law.
Curious and passionate about new cultures, Imane has been living in different countries.
A figure that inspire her? Ibn Battutah.
Always ready to go, she never misses a good occasion to travel. For her, traveling is to meet new cultures but also learn and get enriched from these experiences.
During a journey in Palestine where she had the chance to be hosted by Palestinian families and after a few breaking of the Ramadhan fast far from her family, the idea of the platform came to her mind.
The turning point happened when she saw some of her close relatives and friends being denied access from temporary accommodations because of their faith and/or veils.
After mulling over the idea, she finally decided to make her dream come true and create a space enabling the Muslims to live such incredible and authentic encounters as well.
Therefore she proposed to her childhood friend lIias to join her in the adventure.
Ilias, 21 yo, first year "work/study» master student in System and Network Administrator.
Very keen of travels and new encounters, he was enthusiast about the idea and directly accepted to jump into the venture.
Autodidact, he is passionate about computing and web development. Ilias also enjoys sport. He has a black belt in karate and he is an assistant coach in this sport.
He will be responsible for the technical part and will develop a portion of the website.
Imane will be responsible of the legal, development strategy and communication part.
