Jordan- Senate president holds talks with his Pakistani counterpart

Amman, April 24 (Petra)--Senate President Faisal Al Fayez urged the international community to shoulder its ethical and humanitarian responsibilities, and work seriously to end the suffering of the Syrian people as well as the Syrian crisis to enable the refugees to return o their country.

Al Fayez made the remarks during official talks in Islam Abad with Chairman of the Pakistani Senate Mian Raza Rabbani.

The talks dealt with Jordanian-Pakistani parliamentary ties, means to further boost them, as well as the current situation in the Middle East.

Al Fayez praised the strong ties between Jordan and Pakistan, adding that both countries see eye-to-eye on a number of political solutions, mainly the fight against international terrorism and extremism as well as the need to solve the Palestinian issue and the Syrian crisis.

He also called for activating bilateral agreements, increasing trade exchange and enhancing economic and investment cooperation between the two courtiers.

Chairman of the Pakistani Senate said his country was interested in forging closer ties with Jordan, mainly in the political, parliamentary, economic and trade fields.

He also praised progress that has been achieved by Jordan in various domains despite the current situation in the region.

Rabbani hailed efforts exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah II to bring about security and stability in the Middle East, stressing the importance of international efforts to fight terrorism and extremism.
