(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The semi-final matches of the ‘12th Player' tournament take place on Monday featuring four teams made up of fan associations for Qatar's Al Gharafa and Al Arabi, Egypt's Al Ahli and Italy's Roma.
The teams advance to the semi-finals following a competitive weekend of matches played out on Aspire Dome's indoor pitches. Al Gharafa and Al Arabi defeated teams from the Napoli and Al Rayyan fan associations 4-0 and 1-0 respectively. Whilst Al Ahli defeated the fan association for Premier League club Arsenal 1-0 in a very close match. A team made up of fans for Italy's Roma secured their place in the semi's after defeating Al Merrikh 2-1.
The first semi-final match features Al Gharafa and Al Arabi and takes place on Monday at 7:30pm. And in the second game, Al Ahli faces Roma at 8:45pm. The final of the tournament is due to be played this Wednesday.
The 12th Player tournament is organised with the backing of the Gold Partner Doha Bank, the Silver Partner 'Nissan and the Bronze partners Movenpick Al-Aziziyah Hotel, Oxygen and Oryx. Qatar Football Association is the Strategic Partner for the event, and Qatar Living is supporting the event as the Community Partner.
