Grave silence

IT has been observed that the heroes who have been screaming and yelling for Syria and its people did not even flinch over the savage crime that took its toll on the souls of about 150 peaceful civilians, including children, women and the elderly, and injured more than 1,000 civilian residents of Faua'a and Kifrayah settlements in the border area of Aleppo.

We had witnessed their aggressive visage few years ago in front of the Syrian Embassy in Kuwait. In fact, one of them had bragged about slaughtering a family (a father and his children). Ten other people of similar kind who were around him vowed to do the same to the people of the religious creed to which victim and his children belonged.

When the Syrian regime reinstated its authority on Aleppo and chased out the terrorist groups that had nested there, we again witnessed this disappointing group insult the president of a major country and spit on him, which depicted the level of their thinking and upbringing.

At that time, their stupid speeches indicated that they lost Jerusalem and not Aleppo. However, we have never seen even a single one of them and their kind shed a drop of tear, even crocodile tears, over the second sacred place to Muslims after Kaaba – Jerusalem from where our prophet (PBUH) ascended and which holds sacredness and a status that exceeds any other place.

Once we know the religious affiliation of the people of Faua'a and Kifrayah, we will be surprised by what these people said or did to its residents. These people are the ones who accuse others of sectarian tendencies when, in reality, they have been secreting abhorred drops of sectarianism. They are aberrant people who sympathize with humans on the basis of their religious affiliations and creed.

They are missing the point that human beings — all humans — are brothers and sisters in humanity regardless of their creed, religion, color, ethnicity, race and nationality.

It is unfortunate that those people are not able to comprehend this fact. According to them, those without their same ideological, fundamental and creedal affiliations should go to Hell.

However, if it was the other way around, they would ensure nothing is settled until they realize their desires. A testimony to that is their lack of condemnation over the crimes committed by the suicidal 'takfiri' groups in the United States of America, European countries, Syria, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and other countries that have endured the crimes of these suicidal groups.

Imagine if it was the other way around and the explosions took place in the towns of Zebdani and Madaya close to Damascus after the Syrian regime and the opposition factions agreed to transfer those people to Aleppo in a repugnant unaccepted exchange with the residents of Faua'a and Kifrayah! Without any doubt, they would have protested relentlessly.

It seems the cat ate their tongues and rendered them to maintain the 'silence of the grave' over the massacre of the people of Faua'a and Kifrayah. We wish their bitter silence will continue forever.
