UAE Interior Minister meets Tunisian President

TUNIS, 5th April, 2017 (WAM) -- Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi today received H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, who heads the UAE delegation at the 34th meeting of Arab Interior Ministers Council.

Topics covered by the ministerial meeting, which Essebsi opened earlier in the day in the Tunisian capital, included security strategies, ways of bolstering co-operation in combating terrorism and boreder security to curb cross-border arms smuggling and movement of terrorists.

Other participants in the meeting included representatives of the Arab League, the Gulf Co-operation Council, the Arab Maghreb Union, the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), the International Civil Defence Organization, the Arab Tourism Organization, Arab Civil Aviation Commission, the Naif Arab University for Security Sciences and the Arab Police Sports Union.

Sheikh Saif was welcomed at the airport in Tunis by Mohamed Slim Azabi, director of the presidential office and the personal representative of the Tunisian president, ministers, UAE Ambassador to Tunisia Salim Eissa Al Zaabi, senior officials and others.
