Dubai Media Incorporated wraps up preparations to cover Dubai World Cup 2017

DUBAI, 23rd March, 2017 (WAM) -- Ahmed Saeed Al Mansouri, CEO of TV & Radio sector of Dubai Media Incorporated, DMI, confirmed that preparations have been finalised for its exclusive coverage of the Dubai World Cup 2017.

The event will take place on Saturday, 25th March. Dubai TV, Sama Dubai, Dubai Sports Channel, Dubai One Channel in English and Dubai Radio will broadcast the event with elite correspondents from television production vehicles and on-site analytical studios.

The high-tech equipment used to capture the eagerly-awaited sporting event has been upgraded each year to broadcast it worldwide in more and more unique ways.

"We are delighted to cover the 22nd edition of this prominent social and sporting event, and our aim is to share the excitement at the Meydan Racecourse with DMI viewers and Dubai World Cup fans across the world. The distinguished event was created through the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and is the most prominent worldwide race meeting in terms of cash prizes, with up to US$$30 million of cash prizes divided over various races and an amazing $10,000,000 allocated for the Dubai World Cup champion. We will be adding to the enthusiasm and prestige that surrounds the event through direct coverage, special programs, breaks and advertisements that enhance the viewing experience," he said.

Abdul Rahman Amin, Director of Dubai Racing, reiterated that DMI will provide fans with an enhanced Dubai World Cup experience in 2017. The public appreciates DMI's continually improving coverage of the event, which includes increasingly comprehensive behind-the-scenes action, interviews with jockeys up to the final stages, reports on racing tactics, and an array of complementary special programmes, television commercials and breaks.

Amin highlighted that Dubai Racing has been prepared in direct collaboration with the staff and departments at DMI, which will exclusively cover the event with over 150 technical and media professionals, 62 television cameras, two choppers, a first-of-its-kind "Super Ultra Motion" 4K camera that shoots 800 frames per second, three Cineflex motion cameras, and a myriad of other advanced motion and stabilisation technologies.
