Timetable of events; Dressage starts 8am, Show Jumping 9.30am and Cross Country 2pm
Dubai, UAE, March 24, 2017: The grand finale of the 11th edition of Spinneys Cup Equestrian Championship, organised by Emirates Equestrian Federation, will take place on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Desert Palm Equestrian Centre, Dubai. The prestigious Equestrian Championship is organized in association with Dubai Police, Dubai Tourism and MASERATI.
Known as one of the largest equestrian shows in the region, this show has grown in popularity and registered numbers since its inception. More than 3,000 visitors registered to attend the show, which incorporates three Olympic disciplines - namely Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country, all in one day. The show is the culmination to a very full season for the Emirates Equestrian Federation Championships 2017.
Commenting on the event, Mr. Tariq Albwardy, Director for Albwardy Group and Desert Palm Resort in Dubai, said, 'We are happy to announce the Spinneys Cup Equestrian Championship 2017. Competitions have been held at various centers throughout the UAE to qualify riders to take part in the championships held at the Desert Palm on Friday. The Dressage will be followed by the Show Jumping over a course of 12 fences and then riders will tackle the three kilometers (approximately) Cross Country course over 22 different obstacles. The master scoreboard will keep everyone informed on each rider's progress throughout the day.
'The show is one of the most celebrated events in the region, featuring a variety of equine related activities that appeal to a spectrum of age groups and backgrounds. Not only this event a key date for horse-lovers throughout the season, but also an amazing family day out. This is also an open day for Dubai Police and their families. All kinds of people male and female, young and old, occasional or obsessed - show their enthusiasm in celebrating this fast-paced and challenging sport, Mr. Albwardy further said.
Spinneys Cup Equestrian Championship is a highly-anticipated fixture on the annual calendar among experts, owners, breeders of horses, and the broader community. The number of participants has increased exponentially in the horse show. We hope that this show would be a phenomenal success this year as well.

Alongside the show, Spinneys Dubai will host a food market, which will take place in the Olive Garden at the Desert Palm from 9am onwards. Registration will allow access to the children's activities including pony rides, face painting, and the arts and crafts area, and of course the delicious Spinneys food tasting area where guests can try freshly cooked omelets, grass-fed beef, freshly baked goodies, fruits, salads and lots more.
The event, bringing together owners, breeders, stables, clubs, veterinarians, and professional and leisure riders, is firmly established as the Middle East region's leading show with hundreds of exhibitors from several countries. The show brings to the fore the heritage, beauty and agility of the region's finest horses.
