Motorist fined QR2mnfor reckless driving
A Doha Criminal Court has ordered a GCC man to pay QR2mn in collaboration with the insurance company concerned as compensation for a male pedestrian he ran over with his vehicle. Local Arabic daily Arrayah reported yesterday that the court also fined him QR10,000 for reckless driving which caused several injuries to the victim. According to the medical reports, the victim sustained serious brain damage, and was hospitalised in a coma, unable to recognise anything or move his limbs. In a separate case the court fined a woman QR1,000 for insulting her former sister-in-law by sending her WhatsApp messages, Arrayah reported. The defendant used to send messages insulting the victim, because she thought that she had entered her house while she was away.

Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmad al-Jubeir yesterday received a written message from HE the Foreign Minister of Qatar Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, pertaining to bilateral relations and means of boosting and developing them. Qatar's ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer al-Thani handed the message as he met the Saudi foreign minister in Riyadh yesterday.
